Rate by event size
Your rate is set once, when you create the event, from its expected size — capacity multiplied by ticket price. Not by which plan you are on, and not by what kind of event you are running. It is frozen onto the event at creation, so a rate change never restates tickets already sold.

- Vihaya Events is free for free events and charges a 1.75–4.5% platform fee on paid tickets for event organisers in India. The rate is banded by the event's expected size — smaller events pay the top of the range, larger ones the bottom — and is fixed when the event is created.

Pricing questions
Is Vihaya Events free for free events?
Yes. A free event costs nothing to run on Vihaya Events — no platform fee, no per-ticket charge and no monthly subscription, with unlimited attendees, QR tickets and check-in included.
How much does Vihaya Events charge on paid tickets?
The platform fee is 1.75–4.5% per ticket, set by the expected size of your event (capacity × ticket price) and fixed when you create it. Bigger events get a lower rate. The gateway allowance is up to 3% for domestic payments and 3.64% for international cards, separate from the platform fee.
Who pays the fee — the organiser or the attendee?
You choose. Pass the fee to attendees and they pay it at checkout while you keep your full ticket price, or absorb it and attendees pay exactly the price you set. New events start with the fee passed on.
Is the platform fee based only on a percentage?
Yes. Vihaya's share is calculated from the percentage rate shown for your event and the paid ticket revenue. There is no minimum or maximum fee cap. Razorpay's payment gateway charge applies separately.
Is there a setup fee or monthly subscription?
No. There is no setup fee, no monthly plan and no contract. You pay only the per-ticket platform fee of 1.75–4.5% on paid tickets you actually sell, and nothing at all on free events.
Is GST added on top of the platform fee?
No. The platform fee is quoted as one flat percentage with GST already included in it, so nothing is added on top of the rate shown. The payment gateway charge is separate and set by Razorpay.
How and when do I get paid?
Request a payout any time from your dashboard once your balance is at least ₹100. Payouts are sent by UPI and usually arrive within 2 working days of the request.
Do larger events or repeat organisers get a lower rate?
Larger events get a lower rate automatically — the fee falls from 4.5% for small events to 1.75% for the biggest. For very large, recurring or multi-event programmes, contact the team to discuss a negotiated rate.
Are there any optional extra charges?
Two, and only if you turn them on: phone verification by SMS code adds 0.5% on paid events, and tickets on WhatsApp add 0.5% on paid events. Email verification, QR check-in, certificates and analytics carry no extra charge.
