Cancellations & Refunds

We understand that plans can change. This policy outlines the terms under which cancellations and refunds are processed for events registered through Vihaya.

1. Event Cancellation by User

Cancellation requests must be initiated by the user through their account dashboard or by contacting support.

• Refund Eligibility: Eligibility for a refund depends on the specific policy set by the event organiser. Please check the event details page for the specific cancellation policy.
• Standard Policy (if not specified): If no specific policy is mentioned by the organiser:
  • Cancellations made 7 days or more before the event: 100% refund of the ticket face value (Vihaya's 1.75–4.5% platform fee on paid tickets and Razorpay gateway fees are non-refundable).
  • Cancellations made between 48 hours and 7 days before the event: 50% refund.
  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event: No refund.

2. Event Cancellation by Organizer

If an event is cancelled by the organiser:

• You will typically receive a full refund of the ticket price.
• Refunds will be processed automatically to the original payment method within 5-7 business days.

3. Processing Fees

Vihaya Events is free for free events (no platform fee). For paid tickets, Vihaya charges a 1.75–4.5% platform fee (the rate is banded by your expected event size). Razorpay also charges its 3% payment gateway fee on paid transactions. Both Vihaya's platform fee and Razorpay's gateway fee are generally non-refundable on attendee-initiated cancellations. They are refunded only when the organiser cancels the event entirely.

4. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please email refunds@vihaya.app with your booking ID and reason for cancellation.
